01 Micra Automatic - what's it worth?

My mother is changing her car. She's been offered a good straight deal on a 10 Reg Nissan Pixo.

She'll be selling her current car privately as a result. It's a 2001 Nissan Micra 1 litre automatic with 124,000 miles.

It's in ok condition, nothing to write home about, taxed until July and NCT'd until April. There are two new Hankook's on the front.

Just wondering what it might be worth?

I think she'd be more than happy with that - I guess it could take a while to shift though being automatic.

Not really. there's a strong market for 1.0 automatics.

I hope the pixo is cheap.

Lots of foreign nationals looking for small automatic, you should have no problem selling it. Spend some time cleaning it up and taking some decent photos and stick it up on Donedeal.

Be cheaky, I'd be asking 1,400 for it...

Hard to get, and people want small automatics...

Great weekend to be prepping a car for sale given the weather forecast! Still, if I can polish a few Euro into it it'll be worth it.

It'll take a lot of polish to make it worth €1400!

Don't worry, I wasn't going to be that ambitious/greedy. Going to ask €975 and see what happens.

I don't think it's niether ambitious nor greedy.

I know someone that paid 1050 for a mint 98 one, couldn't find one.

    Car doesn't sound mint though.
I agree if its presentable and mechanically ok you might get more than €900

Time is ticking with the nct though and I'd just want rid of it if it were me.

Would ncting it early be an option for you, it'd add serious value

I was trying to decide whether asking for more than €1,000 would put people off or was under €1,000 too little.

    Start high, expect much less...

If its 1L, not an import and has power steering (some haven't) test it early. Its the sort of thing that'll sell anyway. but 15 months test would push that for a €1200 sale (1500 asking price) Know of a 2000 50k miler, absolutely mint that sold for €1900 before chrimbo.

Tomorrow suit? Cheque is in the post, don't let the spring catch you!

It is an Irish car but far from mint - it has the knocks and scrapes of a 13 year old car that's been used on rural Irish roads. Mechanically sound though I think.

I'm in Tipperary but can meet you halfway in some quiet car park - don't expect a receipt though. ðŸ˜
