    Hi

i just bought a belling cookcentre 110cm cooker from ebay (lpg/electric) which was described as in good working order, but just had it hooked up by the plumber and electrician and the bottom left fan oven does not work at all!
    - indicator light doesn't light up
    -oven doesn't heat up
    -fan doesn't work
-interior oven light does not work

it obviously has been well used though, as it was filthy inside, as she didn't bother cleaning it!

obviously i am upset about this, as it cost me £156 to have it couried to me and the lady lied...
but now i have a rubbish cooker that only partially works!
so would anyone have an inkling what the problem might be, so we could try fixing it ourselves please???

    thankyou!

I hate to say it, but Caveat emptor, it sounds like there is a lot wrong with it, you may be throwing good money after bad

What sort of assurances did you get from the seller? Have you got them in writing?

How long have you had it, not sure if distance selling rules apply to second hand goods..

i just bought it on ebay and paid via paypal ,had it couried to me by a careful courier, and just had it connected up today ,so the items should be as described, which was good working order!
her listing said it was,so i have opened a case.

the seller has said there's some timer function that if it has been accidentally bumped and set disables the oven, so i will check the display to see if it has been bumped into auto mode, but if it hasn't , maybe could it be that the fan is not working? would that disable the oven turning on if the fan wasn't working?

the conventional electric oven is working along with all the other parts of the cooker, just not the fan oven.

well, it appears the belling customer service team really knows little about their ovens!
my dh went around to the house to look at the oven, and mucked about with the buttons and set the time, and its all working now!!!
i specifically asked belling if it just needs to be reset etc, and they said, no , if the conventional oven is working, but the fan oven is not, then theres obviously a fault with the oven! if it needed resetting, then neither would work- but that is not the case!

there's your only hope. You have been sold a lemon. I definitely would not go pumping money into it. The mere fact that it was manky says it all really. Open a dispute with PP, "item faulty/ not as described" and go from there.

the lady that sold it to me was a difficult snob, who refused to get her husband to help the courier load it (so cost me twice the price for a 2nd man instead) and was more concerned about getting her floors scratched (even though the couriers are very careful!
we have always helped buyers load heavy items, its kind of a given and just a general courtesy when they are taking something away, but whatever....
what her attitude translates to though, is a dirty cooker (not being concerned about anyone else than herself, hence not bothering to make it nice for the next person) but a cooker that is cosmetically perfect (once the grime is cleaned off, which i can do).
still, i always clean something down before i sell it...just a matter of respect really...

anyway, as i mentioned above, my husband reset something in the programme (he has no idea what he did, just pressed random things,) and now the cooker is functioning fine, so it was probably messed up when the plumber installed it as i saw him pressing buttons.

so all good....just shows belling don't really know much though ,as they said it must be a fault, not a reset thing, or else neither oven would be functioning.
we could have ended up spending £167 for a callout plus parts and labour from belling, when all it needed was a few buttons reset!

For cleaning it up, this stuff really is the canine dangly bits ...

Much, much better than your standard oven cleaner. If it's a big cooker, and very dirty you may need two packs.

hi guys,i have a similar problem. Just bought a electrolux cooker on adverts the other day. The hob works fine ,but no power at time display and ovens not working. There are L L N N N E terminals on the back of the cooker.
    http://www.mychoice.co.uk/media/handbook/Electrolux/EKC603600K.pdf.
The earth terminal screw was missing, but i have replaced it. So i have 3 screws ,and the live, neutral and earth connected. There is a copper link from L (screw) to the left of L. There is also a copper link from N to N at the right side of the screw (N). I think there should be a copper link at N screw linking to the left N. and i am hoping that this is the reason the ovens are not working. Whoever disconnected the oven may have unscrewed the cables and let a screw and copper link fall off the cooker. Apparently the clock must be set before the oven can work, and there is no power at the clock. Any help appreciated and where i could get the correct copper link. thanks

The 3 N terminals should be linked together as shown in the pdf doc. you linked to.
Also check afterwards that the oven is set to Manual and not Auto. ( timer settings) again explained in the pdf doc.
