    Hi there,

I currently have a sky+HD box and I'm moving and brining this with me. Is there a way of watching different programmes in different rooms without purchasing multi room? A splitter or something? I know about the magic eye but that is watching the same programme.

All depends on what you want a second box for. If you want to replicate what you're getting via the main box, the you'll have to go multiroom. If you just want to get the FTA channels, then any satellite receiver will do, just hook it up to the dish.

whatever option you go for you'll have to run a cable from the dish to the 2nd tv. You can't split the cable going to the 1st tv.

Not strictly true. If you have an XBox you could use the Sky app on that to get quite a few channels on your tv, no cables involved.

very true. If the xbox app is an good as the phone app then a cheap xbox might be a better purchase than a new stb.
