Not sure if this thread has been done before but after playing AC Revelations recently, I watched the trailer on Youtube and remembered how brilliant it was...

I'm a sucker for cinematic trailers, even when they don't show any game footage. Which is why i love the Starcraft 2 launch trailer. It's the best trailer in the last few years, and one of the best i've ever seen.

Another personal favourite is Ace Combat: Belkan War. Mainly for the music.

Dragon Age, I loved the motif of sacrifice, fight to the last man etc. All standard fantasy fare but done quite wonderfully in my opinion.

I preferred both of these to the longer cinematic trailer with voice acting etc that was much lauded. Though that was a very good trailer, for me it was too bread and butter fantasy of the group overcoming odds whilst the trailers above took a different darker path to this more usual appeal to the player as a victorious hero and asked them to play someone who was expected to die if that was what was needed. Nothing new, but a break from the norm from the past few years at least.

Of course, Bioware ****ed that up with 2 but whatever.

Remember a metal gear solid trailer for the ps1, can't find it anywhere, but in part of it snake had set off a c4 that triggered a huge line of c4 and the music that with it was great.had it on a cd a friend gave to me back in 1998 but has been lost since
