Sorry if this is answered already... does anyone know where to get foam inserts cut for a pistol case?

Does anyone cut inserts to match (I have a case already), can I buy pre-scored blocks and cut them myself, or just go to a furniture shop and buy some sheets of foam padding?

Looking for a low cost solution, it's not like I need to protect something worth thousands or fly with it :) Suggestions?

There's loads of tutorials on youtube that will show you how to make them yourself.

Using a roll mat might work, just layer it over to make it thicker.

Gatling suggested http://www.efoam.ie/pickpluck.html which I've ordered. I'll let you all know how it works out.

If I could afford Peli cases, I wouldn't be looking for foam to repurpose an electric drill case :)

There are tool shops who will do it for you. They just need to measure your item for cutting dimensions or else you give them a cardboard template. When you think about it, photographers, musicians, surveyors, etc all use cases with foam inserts, then there has to be someone out there who sells foam cutouts for specialist tools that need safe transport and i guess a gun would come under that!

I've ordered the Pick 'n' Pluck stuff. I'll post a photo when it's done, someone might find it helpful.
