Start a personal blog

So the plan is this year to start my own blog just mainly for personal use won't have my own site etc
Reason being last year I had a great year fishing for salmon and now all I have to show is a few crappy iPhone selfies with the fish , I'd like to look back in years to come of what I caught

Never attempted anything like this before so would like some tips or any ideas etc

Also as for a camera something like a go pro but cheaper ha that I can mount somewhere and record my fishing and maybe with under water capabilities I love looking at them snaps / videos

Any tips on that side of things also ??

i use a go-pro and they are amazing. i use the canon to take pictures as its good to have a good compact camera. dont bother with the phone pics they will never be as a good as a proper camera!

I put this video together with windows movie maker. all pictures were with the canon and go pro.

with the go pro there is lots of options for mounting. head, chest, tripod mounts.

I've been doing one for a few years now - mostly related to my photography hobby but there are quite a few posts in there related to my fishing. I've only recently gotten my hands on a gopro and a DJI Phantom so I'll probably start embedding some of my Oscar nominated, award winning videos (short for shaky, blurry, rubbish) into some of my posts like this one - http://allseeing.me/dji-phantom-my-first-impressions/

I do have plans to photograph the anglers along the Boyne where I fish and I'll try get some cool footage of them from the quadcopter too.

Like you say, it's a great way to record you catches and share them with others with an interest rather than just having snaps on your hard drive that may never see the light of day. Go for it! You can set up a wordpress blog free of charge and if you take to it, you can then get your own domain and to make it a bit more professional.

As much as I want a go pro I just won't spend that much for one ha I have a digital camera nothing real fancy but will take good quailty snaps

If I can get a cheap alternate to the go pro I may give it a go , something like this

Look at the Polaroid xs100 HD camera. Nice alternative to a gopro waterproof etc. around 100€ I think.

I bought a contour roam 2 but wont be trying it out until i hit the river in March. I intend to mount it to the peak of my baseball cap and get some footage of the wee brownies sliding over my net!
