Should the UPC horizon box be left on all the time

    Hi, as title says? Would turning the power switch off every night damage it over time.

    It's designed to be left on all the time, and will probably last longer if left on.

    Generally, leaving them on standby is better than constant switching on and off; though obviously it's (a little) worse for your electricity bill. Chances are, you'd save more by boiling the kettle less or turning your heating down a notch etc.

    The fact that the Horizon box is now the Wifi router as well as the TV cable box means many people have to leave it on, even if rarely watching TV.

    if you switch it off the phone wont work!!!
