Fog lights / light switch not working

Hi there, just wondering if anyone can answer my question please! I'm due to sit my driving test next Tuesday and my driving instructor said my fog lights werent working properly and to get them fixed before my test. I went to 2 garages and a ford garage and it turns out its to do with my light switch inside the car that is faulty and causing them not to work properly. I'm worried that the lights & switch won't be fixed in time before Tuesday if they have to order parts. Will the driving tester look to see if my fog lights are working? will he stop me from doing my test if the fogs aren't working? The rest of the lights are working otherwise. Would anyone be able to answer my question please!

    Ger

It's not a problem. They won't check that your fog lights are working. They only check the indicators and brake lights.

They may ask how you turn on the fog lights, but they won't ask you to actually turn them on.

    Hi Ger,

I would agree with the advice above. The instructor will ask you where you fog-light switch is located (a light comes on in mine when working - does anything happen when you press yours?) ; however, they will check brake lights; both front and rear right and left indicators, and also your hazard lights.
Ensure your secondary controls are okay too, especially your wipers (front more than rear) as they may be needed during test.

As for the actual fog-light, get that fixed asap and you don't know when or where you may encounter fog and you will need them functioning then for sure.

    Best of Luck tomorrow,
