Garmin 500 speaker problem

    Anyone had the speaker ("beep" function) die in their Garmin Edge 500? Couldn't see much about this doing online searches. I've checked that it had not been inadvertantly disabled in settings, + turned off and on again - no joy. The unit is out of warrenty, so I know that it won't be cheap if I have to send it back to Garmin to repair :(

    Otherwise I have to look to see whether button-presses were sucessful. + I had started experimenting with the 'workout' function recently - need to hear beeps denoting intervals. + Think there it may have had other uses for me
