    Dear Pudzey,

While this medication has been available for several years, it is still seen as a 'newer' option for treating insomnia. It is an effective medication that will relieve your insomnia while at the same time it has a smaller likelihood of causing long term problems such as addiction that can be problems with some of the 'older' sleeping tablets such as the benzodiazepines.

You did the right thing in attending your doctor with your symptoms. Your doctor is a professional, dedicated to your well being. He prescribed what he thought was the best medication for you.

You then took your prescription to your pharmacist. He too is a professional, and is there to answer all of your questions as to whether the medicine is likely to be effective, and as to what side effects you might expect.

So far, therefore, there have been two professionals involved in your care, both dedicated to what is best for you.

I respectfully suggest that you should follow their advice, rather than coming on to the internet to ask randomers whether you should take your tablets. If you have further questions, perhaps that you thought about after having collected your tablets, then either your doctor or your pharmacist (or both) can be reached by phone.

    Good luck,
A Pharmacist (but not your pharmacist, so it would be inappropriate to give any more specific advice)

    Sam: Is that better?
