Attic insulation and electrical cables

recently purchased and in the process of doing up a house , had staighre installed to access attic and have discovered theres no insulation at the moment .

I'm considering insulating myself but theres a spiderweb of electrical wires dissecting the main floor space .

looking for suggestions on how best to proceed , looked at a few other threads and they seem to suggest laying the insulation under the wires to prevent over heating but seeing as the wires are connected to the lights in the ceiling below at least some part of them will be covered ?

    open to suggestion

there's been a few threads on it

is it bungalow or 2-storey...generally in 2-storeys there's only the shower cable to be concerned about

socket cables...you're effectively derating the cable but it's unlikely to be an issue unless the cables are fully loaded
which they generally aren't in domestic

another thing....if there's a lot of joints in a bungalow and you disturb them ,it could be a bit of a nightmare after

if it's all covered so you have to be careful there

no its a 2 story mid terrace semi detached , the bath room was refurbished in the last few months there was originally a bath and sink , we gutted the room and had a shower installed instead .

all the upstairs lights are pendants ( only 3 rooms , 2 double and a bathroom)

its not a huge house overall but the difference in heat levels between ground and first floor is almost 50% plus getting a lot of moisture on the inside of the windows , really annoying

    lighting wont matter

shower cable ..raise it over insulation

be careful not to disturb any joints

you could turn on lights while you're laying the insulation and keep an eye on them if it's a concern
