    Hi.

Looking on eHobby for a replacement hop-up bucking for my AUGs, there are lots of different ones listed with hardness ratings from 50 degrees to 90 degrees.

Does anyone have any recommendations or opinions for hardness ratings or brands? Or does it make no difference under our power limit?

i use the shs red/pink (bought in hobbyairsoft) or prometheus purple (bought in airsoft eire) hop up rubbers in most of my guns with excellent results.

Softer rubbers or anything below 50degree hardness are for aegs firing sub 350 or 400fps can't remember the recommended figure. Anything above 50 is for aegs shooting above said figures. Fairly sure it is 400fps.

Prommy pinks are brilliant in M4's, in my G&G EBR not so much, pretty sure the AUG chamber is the same as the G&G EBR. Now not saying it will be the same with the AUG but just a heads up!.

I myself use g&g green hop up rubbers in all my aegs, find them to work great

The 50 degree - 90 degree etc is the SHORE hardness of the rubber and is a measure to how hard the rubber is
The bigger the number the harder the rubber is, so a 50 degree is softer then a 60 degree and a 60 degree is softer then a 70 degree etc

Best results I have got with my AUG was with a SHS white rubber and a H nub, 316fps hop fully off and 309fps with hop applied and the BB slightly over hopped

Well, yes of course , but the question was whether a harder hopup makes any difference (under a joule) and whether there's any sweet spot.

I would guess that if you go too hard with the hopup the gun mightn't have the whoosh to get the BB past it. If it's too soft it will wear out. So is 50 degrees about right for Ireland or should we go up a bit? And if so, how much?

    Hi

just a quick question ,I've seen SHS Red/pink , SHS white and SHS Improved (blue) which is best for our 1j rule ?
(its for an AEG with a prommy tight bore 6.03 using .25gs)

Shs white's afaik know have been replaced by the pink/red's, the pink/red is my go to hop up rubber at the moment as they are cheap and usually provide excellent results. For the 1J any rubber around the 50 degree is about right, however on supourt guns id go a little higher due to the increased volume of bb's.

Great Thermo I'll have to pick one up and try it out ,You use the nub that comes with it or something harder ? I have an SHS and a madbull fishbone which would ya go with.

The nub that comes with the is very soft so i use one that is a bit thicker/harder the fishbone should be better but like all things a bit of trial and error wouldnt hurt.
