Seat leon airbags [pre-tensioners]

    bags deployed on a 2009 seat leon tdi, have got the dash, but told the seat belts will need to be reset, anyone know whats the procedure for this

    I'm quite sure you need to buy a new pre-tensioner for it as a repair would be too uncertain.
    You can switch the tensioner so you don't need a new belt.
    I wouldn't go to a breaker for this, unless you trust them. Better get a new one. Start with getting a quote and a part number from a dealer, it might not be that expensive.

    they are near impossible to get and im told then they can be reset successfully but i'm not sure

    I thought pre tensioners were pyrotechnic, one use only? If the front airbags went off id imagine the pretensioners did too, so clearing a flag on a control unit isn't gonna help.

    Not an expert, just interested.
    Did the person who told you this sell you the car? Or was it a reputable third party?
