Restuarants paying before eating

This new concept of paying for food before receiving it, a big portguese chain springs to mind, operates like this, drives me mad. I have yet to have a good meal in a restuarant where i have had to pay for my food before receiving it. Anyone else agree that the old fashioned way of paying for your food after you eat it works best?

It really doesn't bother me. You pay in Burger King and McDonald's and lots of small cafes before eating, although it's not what you'd expect in "proper" restaurants. It's all about the business model that the restaurant chooses to follow.

Depends on the place but I'm as happy to be able to leave when I'm ready instead of waiting for someone to come over, then I ask for the bill, then they come back with the bill, then I pay or ask for the card machine thingy, then they go get change blah blah tedious really. Also assuming you mean nandos I wouldn't really consider it a big step up above any of the above mentioned fast fooderies.

Points for effort. Must try harder.

It's usually just fast food; as they are all about serving as many customers as possible so keeping track of things so people can pay later would be difficult. So it makes sense.

Also I'm a classy lad myself but I'm still partial to the odd Big Mac and Fries.

Your high horse wouldn't fit in the door and I doubt you get of it.

Nando's are South African so don't think he/she means that one.

Horse could be chopped up and served to you as a "burger" in there!

Piri piri may be Portuguese, Nando's are from SA.

I like paying for my meal before eating. Saves any time waiting for the bill after your meal and avoids tips. Sweet.
