Reimbursement of ACCA Course Fees

I have a signed letter from my employer which says that if I pass F7 or F9 (or both) that I will be reimbursed in full.
For arguments sake let's say I pass the two of them and I am due €1,125 from my employer.
    Here's where the problems start:
    1. I am currently looking to move on from where I am and if I hand in my notice before they pay me (see below) then they will query why should they pay me if I am leaving.
My argument to that would be that I completed the exam last December so I have given them 2 months of my newly acquired knowledge.
Does this seem like a legitimate argument?

    2. Our cash flow situation where I work is in a precarious position and we are holding payments on many of our main suppliers - even if I don't find suitable employment and decide to stay here, I don't think they will pay me for months and I had planned to use this money to pay for the next batch of course fees

Could somebody look at this and give me their honest opinion on whether I would be out of line demanding payment or am I entitled to be reimbursed ??

Are you breaking a trainee contract to leave?

I think that if you pass your exam and have handed in your notice then it's taking the piss asking for it back.

Have you found another job? The results are only a couple of weeks away so maybe hand in your notice after you claim if at all possible

Just remembered. I left Dell in 2001 as part of a voluntary redundancy package (I think I was one of the first to apply :) ) and as part of the process we were told we would get the fees refunded even after we left if we could prove we passed the exams. I think the results were due shortly afterwards.

I passed the exams and although I followed up with Dell they ignored me. So, if a company like Dell do it, then chances are...

No I am not breaking any training contract and there is nothing in my contract regarding exams.
I do have a letter from last September stating I will be reimbursed €562.50 if I pass one exam and €1,125 if I pass two.
It doesn't say anything other than that.

My argument would be that the exam results I am about to receive on Feb 8th are to do with the work I put in during Aug to Dec last year and the fact that I am possibly leaving in Feb or March should not matter?

I have not handed in my notice, I have just started to look around for other roles.
