    Advice please!!

I had a cow abort her calf @ 7 & 1/2 months 10 days ago. I Got a calf for her two days ago. She has taken to the calf no problem but she hasn't much milk. What should I be feeding her or is there anything I can give her to help her produce more milk. Thanks in advance.

triggerharvey, she's only a young cow. This would have been her 5th calving including 2 sets of twins so I thought she is worth the effort.
I'm in the situation now so just want to know what others have done in this situation.

Let her out for few hours get bit of grass, if that don't bring her to her milk nothing will.

+1 and also make sure calf is getting enough milk for the first week or two while cow is increasing in condition/milk

++1 on that, there's a reason why dairy farmers try to get grass into the diet as quick as possible after calving

also an injection you can get to bring her to milk, but it dependant on her having milk to start and helps her release it, forget the name, clos.... something or other

Oxytocin. Helps milk let down, but like you said the cow has to have milk first. If grass can't do it, it can't be done.
