    Hi there,

I have a galaxy s4 and I don't have the lte option :(. Any idea how can I get it? I think should be ok if I install another room, but which one?
I bought my phone in Amazon unlock, 4.4.2 official.

    Thanks

Did you try clicking on drop down menu and selecting "lte" only.

    Hi gon250

I bought my s4 from amazon as well. The problem is LTE isn't enabled.

I'm with three.ie and as far as I know they still haven't released the required "upgrade". There's a couple of options...

    1. if you've rooted your phone then you can use 'Advanced Signal Status' to easily switch to LTE.

    2. You can also flash a ROM with LTE enabled but that might be getting a little too technical and you may not be comfortable doing that.

    3. I'm pretty sure there's a way to enable it through the hidden service menu but I don't have the code to access that. I'll have a look

The only other alternative is to wait for three to provide the upgrade and then go to Settings -> More -> About device -> Software update
and ensure your phone has the latest updates.

But if it's an unbranded phone that wasn't supplied by Three, then you will need to wait until Samsung release a firmware update via OTA or Kies or else install one of the leaked 4.4 ROMs or try a different ROM

Im with VF and have 4.3. I have a business account so I had to ring them - they flicked a few levers, opened a few valves and pulled a CB.

The highest Network mode is LTE/WCDMA/GSM and now I can confirm that I have seen the little 4G symbol beside the signal strength indicator. Not where I live of course, but nearer to Dublin City.

I ran Youtube videos in HD and they looked brilliant.

I hope this is of some help.

I just realised that if I switch to lte then data is working fine and I can receive calls but if anyone trys to ring me they get a message saying i'm "on another line."

So looks like the options pizzahead77 gave may be the only options.

I'll try a different ROM later and see how that goes.

Open ur phone keypad. Type in *#*#4636#*#* then go to phone options. Go down to preferred network wcdma. Click on that and scroll down to The one u want. Click on the one with all the signals and LTE. See does that work

I found the file in the root directory that was causing me problems. It was just a case of updating the contents of the file from false to true and then LTE was available.

details here to connect Galaxy S4 to LTE
