Planning to have a precast concrete stairs with standard strip foundation. 250mm eps insulation. 75mm screed. Problem is I think concrete stairs will not be able to rest on concrete screed and will therefore break the insulation layer. Anyway to overcome this?

Rebar in screed won't work if the screed cannot take the point load.

This is a specific structural detail.

I used a foamglas block on my stairs for the first row of blocks supporting the bottom of the stairs. It was suggested by stairs supplier. PM if you want the details. The stairs in actually been installed today.

My stairs is off a raft foundation. You could pour a structural support pad under the stairs location and use the foamglas block.
