    Hey guys.

A few weeks someone decided to write a note on my 05 corolla silver car driver door with....permanent marker.i had to use a green kitchen cloth to get off the marker resedue and it seems to have left a very slight discolouring in the finish but its more When it is wet it looks like it holds Condensation and is fine after I give it a wipe.
I understand it needs a finish spray or something similar. Would any of ye guys be able to recommend a product at all please?

    Cheers guys.

I'd talk to a pro tbh, the damage was probably done when trying to remove the marker. It might be a case of getting the door sprayed to be honest.

You may have just marred the clearcoat, for the sake of about €10 go to halfords and buy some meguiars scratch x. It's a mild compound that could remove the scratches...worth a try.

Cheers neil. The damage is quite light seems to show the discoloration when weather us bad and at an angle. I'll try this. Thanks

You've inflicted lots and lots of very fine scratches to the clear coat and as a result have dulled the appearance.

As suggested, try a rubbing compound such as Meguiar's Scratch X.
Failing that a machine polish should restore the finish provided you havent damaged the clear coat too deeply.

For future reference isopropanol or white spirit will remove permanent marker.
