What type of bulb is in my Accord?

    Hi All,
Its typical that my drivers side (dipped) headlight bulb should go the day before I have the NCT......

Anyway I have a slight problem in that I am unsure if the car is fitted with HID bulbs or halogen. From looking it up it seems I should not attempt to remove a HID bulb myself due to residual charge (tbh I'm not the most clued in with this sort of thing....but I know enough to change the bulb). I have no idea how I can check without taking the bulb out which leaves me pretty well stumped.

The car is a 2l petrol Honda Accord Type S (Reg 08 but its the 07 model).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    dohda

It'll have high voltage warning stickers if it's hid.

Chances are a type s will just have halogen though. It should be a H1 bulb.

    Thanks for that.

Would the high voltage stickers be on the enclosure itself? If so I'd say I'm safe enough that its a halogen bulb. If the warnings are on the base of the bulb itself I'm none the wiser as I can't actually see it properly without removing it.
The owners manual was of no help either as it simply states that either could be fitted.

Title amended, there is no need to shout :)

It'd be on the headlight assembly itself. It would be fairly prominent.

Sorry about the shouting.......... I actually had caps lock on and was too lazy to type it again...... :o

Anyway that's great as there are no such high voltage stickers anywhere to be seen so I'll go ahead and change it out.

    Thanks all for the help.

It's a H1 halogen bulb. HIDs never came on the 2 litre Type S.
