Hope this is the right place to ask.
I have the cars NCT coming up in a few weeks and cant find my vehicle registration certificate. Is it absolutely necessary to have it on the day or is it one of those things they may or may not ask for. Will I be turned away if I can't produce it?

Thanks, the sons were doing a bit of an impromptu clean up and may have dumped the thing. I was so pleased to see them tidy up I never bothered to check what they had actually thrown in the bin.

I think they will test the car either way, but might not issue the cert until you show them the logbook.

Chances are youll be fine. Only time I was ever asked for the logbook was when I was testing my fathers car (the impression I get is that they will only ask if its not your car).

I'd agree but they seem to always ask in Blarney

That's good then, because god only knows how long it would take to get a replacement registration cert.

They even asked for mine before a retest!! Luckily, I still had mine in the car from the original test.

Well mine is booked for a Sunday morning. Wonder if that means they will just want to see the back of me quicker or will be more picky because they are working a Sunday morning.
