The Queen's household finances were at a “historic low” with just £1m left in reserve, MPs said.

Her courtiers were advised to take money-saving tips from the Treasury.

A report by the Commons public accounts committee found that the Queen’s advisers were failing to control her finances while the royal palaces were “crumbling”.

The poor cow only a measly million left, so any tips for her to save a few bob?

We'll start a general whip around for her and then organise a few 10k's and a charity cycle. Let's show Lizzie we care. If the corgis get wet, they'll melt. Fact!

The same as anyone else that's feeling the pinch and needs to tighten the belt.

If we give her €2000, does that mean that no one is allowed give more than that?

She can't, like most of her."possessions", they are held in trust by the state.

She will have to switch to Tesco own brand cider

She should release a career spanning 10 disc boxset "The Best of Queen"

Thanks Fratton, we really needed that clarification.

Only humane thing to do now is to bring her round back and put her out of her misery.

It's important to understand the true level of her poverty.

Why only last week she had her account with Paddy Power reduced to just a few million.

The Palace isn't even her gaff.... I'd be calling the landlord and getting them to sort it out.

    Had a Google.

The Duchy of Lancaster is quite interesting.

Its 46,000 acres held in trust to pay for whoever is the monarch (rather than the office of "The Crown").

Income tax is paid on this.

In 2009 income was £13 million.

The estate is worth around £350 mill.

    Search for "privy purse".

If Freddie was still alive they'd not have this problem.

Maybe she should phone up the Governments of Ireland, Spain and Argentina and tell them one off take it or leave it offer on those pieces of land they were interested in.

But then again they are all more financially ****ed than she is so it might be a case of them not returning her calls.

Down to her last million, eh? I know what that's like. Only last week I had to sell my yacht for a miserable 38 million. Some fella called Eddie Irving bought it. And I had to give him back a tenner 'luck money'. Life is hardly worth living anymore.

New Zealand for 4 million or something.

She'll be asking for a payday loan I'd say. Only 3500% APR.

You'd better go get the boat back or Eddie Jordan's going to be seriously pissed with you.

She should copyright her image and then sue all the people who use it like the banks and postal service.
