Crush at Coppers

    Trom RTÉ News.

    An 18-year-old woman, who was one of seven people injured in a crush outside Copper Face Jacks nightclub on Harcourt Street in Dublin, is in a critical condition.

    She is being treated in St James' Hospital in Dublin.

    The incident happened outside Copper Face Jacks on Harcourt St at about midnight.

    Gardaí say around 1,500 people were queuing outside the nightclub at the time.

    Seven people were injured, four of those were taken to hospital Emergency Departments for treatment.

    Harcourt Street was closed off for a time after the incident but has since reopened.

    Lets hope the woman and everyone else make a full and speedy recovery.

    Its frightening that something like this could occur in this day and age.

    Especially on a Monday night. Was there something special going on there last night?

    Before anyone tries to relegate this thread to the Dublin City Forum - Coppers is a national institution given the clientele that goes there.

    I wasn't in a rush. I just heard it on Morning Ireland and thought it would be of interest to many here given the popularity of the venue.

    I don't think there's anything unusual about similar threads being started within minutes of each other when news of interest is breaking.

    I'm also curious as to why there were so many there on a Monday night.
