I'm at Pearse atm and I could cry it's so cold and miserable.

I know they are open buildings but sometimes it feels even colder here then outside.

Could they not put heated shelters inside?

My shivers arr hurting me I'm so cold :-(

Train stations used to have things called "Waiting Rooms". These were great. Smallish, heated, provided with seats.

Alas. People started using them to drink in, to shoot up in, to piss in, and gradually waiting rooms were closed everywhere, relegating them to things old-timers would talk about nostalgically, nodding their heads and bemoaning modern times.

They still have them in other countries even though they get vandalised

Not only that but most train stations act as wind tunnels, the resulting wind chill factor means it actually feels much colder.

    Cold?

You kids don't know the meaning of the word.

During the war, it was so cold in Russia the flame on my lighter froze.

Train Stations effectively have no doors. That's the problem.

At least you had a roof, can't say the same about the platform in Drumcondra

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Train stations are generally open spaces & outdoors so when if its cold & your in an open space or outside, your generally going to feel the cold hence the reason why train stations are cold

Try Limerick Junction, the open platform, the wind coming down off the snowy mountains, and the last train from Cork just a rumour.

Can you not just turn up a few mins before the train is due to leave. Or if that's not possible pop into one of the bars or cafes at the station for a warm drink.

Sit in nice warm pub beforehand, arrive on platform 10 mins early, wear more clothes in winter, and dont be a wuss.

pearse isn't to bad for cold, tara street can be bad though, i can't comment on waiting rooms in relation to dublin stations but the only ones i believe are closed are rathdrum and clonmell, can't confirm that though

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

Tis me the op again. In pearse waiting for train home :(

I am in under the tracks - in tunnel used for crossing from side to side.

    It's not exactly warm/heated but there's no cold air/wind!
