sick with worry

This may seem trivial but it's not to me.

There's a big musical artist coming around and tickets going on sale later in the week.

I'm a big fan and would love to get a ticket. I'm pure sick with fear and worry and as time grows closer I'm getting more anxious. I'm not eating or sleeping properly and shaking with so much fear. Terrified that I may not get a ticket or internet crashing or not being able to read the capthca and so much more. Well that's it really. I guess I need my mind put at ease or something that if on Thursday the worst came to the worst and I'm unable to get a ticket.

I know there'll be a mad rush for tickets and it'll be upsetting if you don't get one. However, can I just say that all manner of things will come up between now and the gig, and some people with tickets will be selling. Even on the day of the gig, people will be sick, have a death in family yada yada; circumstances change and people can't go for whatever reason.

I know The Boss is different because he hasn't had such a long hiatus from Ireland, but I waited ages before I got my tickets online on sale day for him. Got 2 for myself and my OH as part of his Christmas present and I think they sold out really fast. Anyway, day of the gig, both of us absolutely bowled over with a virus and couldn't travel. Put the tickets up on adverts (and there were lots of others put up that morning too) and got rid of them easily. Those folks that called about the tickets could have missed out on the sale day, but were keeping an eye for people offloading.

Just something to bare in mind. It really isn't something to lose sleep over! Calm down and don't panic - it'll work out.

Could you queue up at a ticketmaster outlet?

Okay your anxiety is not at a normal level; it's extreme. I suggest talking to your GP about it.

I agree with dipdip, the problem is not the fact that you may not get a ticket, but how irrational and obsessive your worrying is around it. Anxiety is a normal emotion, but when it causes you to feel this way, shaking, not eating/sleeping, about something relatively trivial then you need some help with it.

Talking to your GP about it would be a good first step. If you find you worry this way about a lot of things then Cognitive Behavioural Therapy might be very helpful to you.
