Apollo 1 fire 47th anniversary

    Today marks the 47th anniversary of the fire involving apollo 1 when tests was being carried out, and a fire broke out killing all three astronauts in the CM.

    The three astronauts were:
    Command Pilot Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom
    Senior Pilot Edward H. White II
    Pilot Roger B. Chaffee

    I'm not sure if ye do rememberence threads in this forum, but being a big fan of manned space flight for years I thought it was appropriate to acknowledge the event.
