windows upgrade justed wiped files stored on my desktop

as the title says a windows upgrade justed wiped files stored on my desktop. not the best place to store files. how do I get them back thats if I an get them back. Thanks

You mean you upgrades to a new version of windows?

If so there is a good chance they are in a folder called windows.old folder that should have been created on the c: drive during the upgrade process.
