...but not the run-of-the-mill visors we see on television. About 15 years ago I bought a golf visor in McGuirks of Howth, Co. Dublin. This visor has the usual strap that goes around the back of one's head but the peaked-cap part is not cloth, it's transparent plastic. The plastic protects one's glasses from rain. The sides of the 'peak' comes down to protect glasses from rain blowing in at the right and left sides of the glasses.

I only returned to golf 18 months ago and numerous club members have asked me where I got my visor. Unfortunately, while the person at McGuirks remembers exactly what I'm badly describing, she says they don't do them anymore. A friend saw one on the web but the post & packaging (from the US) was three times dearer than the visor!

Does anyone know anywhere in Ireland that one of these visors can be purchased? I'll check in during the week to see if anyone has replied. Thanks a million.

Would be interested in this as well. Have an awful time playing in the rain with my glasses.

I end up just leaving mine off & get my playing partners to point me sideways in the right direction!
Have thought of getting contacts but my better half then informed me that eyeballs have to adjust to them & wouldn't just wearing them for golf.

    Hi,

I don't know who stocks them but if I remember correctly they were called AQUA-VIS. They were generally good except if you played a links with a stiff breeze, then the whole shooting match could vibrate and I found that very offputting. Good luck with your search.

EDIT: Site found at www.aquavis.co.uk including prices and postage to U.K.
