I posted this one earlier today which should be very similar to what you are looking for and will play the above games very nicely.

thats a very good build and i was looking at something very similar earlier, my only problem is that the windows OS has to fit into the €550 price

I couldn't really chop any more of it that this, a few compromises but it'll do the job. As I understand you really need more than 4GB to run BF4 well so losing one of the 4GB sticks probably isn't the best option. If you run it through gehizals.de with this method you might get it down nearer to €550.

    Item|Price
    Sharkoon VS3-Standard Rot, ohne Netzteil|€22.20
XFX PRO450W Core Edition Full Wired Power Supply|€43.45
    ASUS M5A78L-M LX3, Sockel AM3+, mATX|€38.98
AMD FX-6300 Prozessor, Boxed, Sockel AM3+|€97.39
    2 x 4GB G.Skill PC3-12800U CL11-11-11-28|€69.74
    WD Blue 1TB 6Gb's|€51.22
    MSI R9 270 GAMING 2G, AMD Radeon R9 270, 2GB DDR5|€159.43
    Windows 8.1 64Bit Eng Intl (SB-Version) DVD|€85.07
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€586.47

would you recommend and other graphics card? perhaps one with a slightly smaller price tag? or do you think the r9 270 is worth saving up for?

You can get copies of Windows cheaper elsewhere, there's a thread on here somewhere , and if you knock the ram down to 4gb you'll be on budget.

Edit: CL9 4gb kit for €36. half the cost.

Didn't know PCFritz were still doing this but you can get window 7 here for about €55 (delivery to ireland is €15). I have activated a copy from there on a HTPC no bother. (Reccomend ordering using google chrome translation)

    http://www.pcfritz.de/software/betriebssystem/windows-7-professional/10264/windows-7-professional-64-bit

TBH I'd be reluctant to cut anything else from the build, if you must then one stick of the RAM could go like Slutmonkey57b says, but if BF4 is on you radar alot of stutter problem have been reported with this much RAM.

EDIT: Just Seen this in the BA thread, one of these coupons might work as well

The are a software reseller so at best you could say its a legal grey area as they are reselling volume OEM keys. But a few people here have activated them successfully without issue.

in relation to your build i copied it and thanks very much but after putting it together I keep on getting a message on my old dell monitor which i am using until i have enough money saying that it is in power save mode. I have tried reseating the ram and checking for loose connections . Would anyone have a clue what is wrong with what??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,588 ✭✭✭Slutmonkey57b

it means the graphics card isn't sending a signal, or the cable is loose. If you're sure the cables and connections aren't loose, then you probably need another monitor to test with.

If the fan on the graphics card isn't spinning, then check the pci power connectors if there are any.

    Hey,

I copied the same build. Along with a new CD drive and windows 8. Everything works fine. Love the build "HATE WINDOWS 8" I used an owl monitor as well and connected it to the new graphics card. Seems to work fine.
