Do/should manufactures honor warranties if you buy a 2nd hand house and materials are still within the warranty periods?
We bought an 8 year old house and there are a couple of upvc doors and windows that need to be replaced as the frames are bulging, letting in water and draughts. As far as i know there is a 10 year warranty on the upvc.

Good luck with that , chances are you'll be told that the windows were poorly installed.
If you know who manufactured the windows try it anyway ...

Letting in water and draughts is an installation issue. The warranty would only be for the materials used to make the window and the window manufacture itself. To be honest most warranties are not worth the paper given the amount of clauses that they generally contain. You have them on the hook for 2 years but anything after that will.be a struggle
