got talking to a family that were driving one of these motorhomes across the states last summer and the dad said it cost 1600 dollars to fill the tank....ouch.

Great holiday though, far better than your usual flight/hotel package deal imho.

    Seriously 1600?
That's way over 1000 litres of fuel. More than a tonne of extra weight.

I presume he meant for the entire journey! :D

Anyone else thing of Breaking bad when they saw the thread?

20-24 l per 100 km but considering it is halfprice fuel there - it would be equivalent of 10-12l car.

Yes 1600 dollars, nearly fell over when I heard. It was a behemoth though, looked like a bus eireann coach. Think he said it was returning about 6 mpg.

tipper lorries would do about 6 mpg on average, so a big motor home , with all the appliances included , could use that much.

would love to do something like that myself. could be a great adventure !!

I think those RV's do around 10-12 mpg (US) not great but certainly a great holiday, I looked at this but the logistics are a real hassle, the factory is a long way from Minneapolis.
I'd love to do it but not this year!

Would love to do something like this trip - but comments don't look good for this offer - possible scam or just expired:

Its a scam. I tried to phone them on 2 different numbers and get a "you've won a free cruise in the bahamas and loads of money". When I opted out I have been disconnected form the call. there are no USA dates available. Think they generate all this false interest to try and scam you into other things.

Not only that, by setting up your own mobile Meth Lab you could make a nice profit en route to your destination city :D;)
