Recommend a local garage in kilkenny for a pre-purchase inspection

    Would appreciate some options for local mechanic or garages that would do an inspection on a car tomorrow evening in the city and a rough idea of cost if anyone else has used them

    Alternatively has anyone used motorcheck/advance in kilkenny and would recommend them for same?

    Do main dealers do these types of inspections? Namely ford in this case?

    How late are you talking before 6 the main dealers would be open and I'm sure they would check it over if you ring and ask. I don't know of any independant mechanic garages in Kilkenny. But I live in Kilkenny and if I ever need work done I go to barlos there a main Opel/ Nissan dealer in kk but they have two ford sister garages so there mechanics no fords inside out and they've sorted problems on my focus before. There not too bad price wise. There the only main dealer in kilkenny I would recommend or use myself tbh.

    thanks, will give them a call in the morning. Trying my own mechanic also to see if he can come himself or someone he would recommend in kk

    Barlos going to do the inspection for me - looks like a pre-nct from what i can tell but at least it will have been looked at while up on ramps. So ill just have to be happy with the road test myself in terms of the engine and gearbox. cartell check came back clear, including the uk history. Havent bought private before so just hoping i dont end up with a lemon. Thanks BPMULL, the guys in barlos were great to deal with on the phone.

    Ah Ye there sound out in barlos when it comes to parts and service department. If anything goes wrong with my car and I need it looked at in Kilkenny barlos is the first place I go they know there stuff and are fair price wise as main dealers go. Hope you get sorted with the car. Let us know :)
