I often wonder why the Fureys chose to give the song a different name and also change so many lyrics when they covered Eric Bogle's masterpiece.
Loads of songs get covered with different musical interpretations but don't change titles / lyrics.

I heard Stockton's Wing version last night for the first time and it is based on the original. This thought about the Fureys came to me then.
