hi, just a quick one. does a standard electric guitar have to be booked seperately on an aer lingus flight (as it does on ryan air)?? previously they could just come on as part of your checked baggage allowance.

I read all that but it doesn't actually tell you how to book an instrument. I done a dummy run to book a flight, i could book in sports equipment, lots if types of it, but nowhere to book instruments. sucks.

I'm not sure what the strict rules and regulations are, but I've definitely had the experience of them being pretty cool about it (pretty sure I just turned up with the guitar and played dumb and they said it was grand). I can't remember where I was flying to but certainly within Europe

My guitar is 3/4 size and maybe it was just a nice person but I'd say you could be okay based on my experience

You have to book the guitar as a person, as in buy a seat for it, not just add it on to your booking. It's booked under Guitar/One MS

Thanks for checking but I know that's not correct :-) I've mailed the customer service for some info. I have flown with them a lot in the past and the guitar was just classed as a bag in the hold, the info you read is relating to really large instruments.
