OP - can you please add more detail here.
RI is not a general discussion forum, it is specifically to help people with their own relationship issues. If you cannot provide this context we will close the thread and suggest instead you try one of the other forums.

    Thanks.

Surely being actively involved in his child's life demonstrates important traits for a potential long term partner. (If he's not a potential long term partner then why worry anyway.)

    What's the personal issue?

I'm currently seeing a guy who has a young child. I also have a child. It makes things slightly difficult in terms of getting time together and we have to make a real effort to meet up and we probably don't get to see as much of each other as we'd like.
But as it's early days and neither of us have met each others children yet, I figure things will get easier as things get more serious and we're able to be in each others houses and spend time together including the kids etc.

It has it's trials but it's worth it if the effort is made.

You also have to appreciate that if there's an ex involved, then that ex is going to be on the scene for good. My childs father isn't involved but I do have to accept that my boyfriend attends family events with his ex there, Christmas, birthdays etc. In fact, he probably sees more of his ex than he does of me at the moment.
But I trust him. It's long over and they just see each other because of their child.

Closing as no update from the OP per mod request above.
OP - please contact us with details if you want this re-opened. As it stands though this does not appear to fit the criteria of this forum.
