So I havn't watched TV in a few months and now I turned it on and most of the freesat channels are gone. Ones I watch are BBCs, Itvs, channel 4/5, pick tv, challenges, etc etc are all gone

I know how to tune them in individually manually, but surely there must be another easier way to get the majority back quickly?
If anyone can help please do.
    Thanks

I assume you have a fta box? Maybe a full rescan?

How long is a few months? There was a big shuffle around of frequencies a few months ago.

Make and model of satellite receiver?

There was major changes to the frequencies around Oct. Channels moving satellite and new frequencies added and others switching off.

Is there a blind scan function in the receiver that scans for all frequencies and polarisations and saves those found. If not you'll have to add any missing frequencies to the list and do a full rescan.

Check the stored list of frequencies in the receiver against one of the online lists such as King of Sat or Lyngsat.

It has to be a FTA box, as a Freesat will automatically retune itself. One of their main advantages.

As long as your dish hasn't moved or the LNB hasn't stopped working, then a rescan should bring all the channels back.

Maybe the storms have moved your dish?

hmm its possible, but I don't think so.. there are other TVs and boxes in the house and I havn't heard of anyone else complaining of all their channels being scrambled, I can find out though

If the other boxes connected to the dish are OK then most likely the channel and frequency lists needs updating.

Get the manual out, that should describe how to add new transponders/frequencies.

As I mentioned in a post above you will have to check the stored list of frequencies in the receiver against one of the online lists such as King of Sat or Lyngsat and add any missing frequencies before doing a rescan. I don't own one so can't give you specific information on how to do it, this can vary from one model of FTA receiver to another.
