I have a Boru stove in my livingroom. It is great for heating the room and radiators. My problem is the terrible smell that is coming from it. Anyone else come across this problem. I have a smaller stove (no boiler) in another room and no problem.

I've a boru croí beag. No back boiler. Only time it smells is if I use stove cleaners on it or when it was new. Otherwise its perfect.

Thank you. My stove is the Carraig Mor. In my case this is not the problem. I would love to solve this as it is very unpleasant. Thank you again for the reply.

It can be sometimes caused if the installer used a silicone based sealant. If this is the case, it will not resolve itself & the sealant must be removed & replaced.

Thank you very much for the post. I will consult with my plumber if this is the case. I will get back after I have spoken with him.
