College fees mess.

I'm in my first year of college (Level 8), receiving a grant etc.. Just to start the story off.

I was previously in a different course (Level 7) in a different colege, I left it within a month of beginning the course (This was in 2011).

A few days ago, I received a letter asking for 2000 euro, as I somehow did not withdraw properly (although I 100% did hand the form in, so really it is their error).

This puts me in a sticky position, as I left the course in 2011, had no contact whatsoever about the 2000 euro, at all. I can't afford to pay it in such a small time frame, I didn't use their services whatsoever and in fact as mentioned, it was in their error they did not process that form correctly from over 2 years ago. I literally was unaware until this letter came.

Legally, do I have any come back here?

What stage are you at now, have you explained the situation to them, and they've basically said fupp off?
