I was watching the recent ITV documentary about him earlier on. He came across well in it. He did seem to loose his ruthlessness after the Watson fight, which is understandable. You can see clear evidence of this against Collins. Collins was there for the taking in their first fight, but he seem to be afraid to finish Collins off.

I've always found Eubank to be a likeable character. Odd, certainly, but likeable and decent all the same.

I always found him difficult to watch when interviewed. Too odd!

I found that to be his charm. He can come across as arrrogant at times, but there is an innate decency to the man. He was very honest in this tv programme. It's well worth watching.

Anyone seen much of his son/s fighting? I see one lad has moved up considerably in the most recent Boxing News rankings. Something like 13-0 now.

IMO was the best boxer of the three - Benn, Collins & himself. Collins was more rugged, Benn good all rounder but Eubank had it all.

I can get behind this view.

I think he was a bit of an arse and that his act of being some sort of an intellectual was paper-thin to be honest. Still, as a boxer you have to respect him. He came up through the sport the hard way, was a fantastic talent, entertained us all for years and was generally pretty fearless (fighting Calzaghe, fighting Collins in Ireland). While I don't think he was up there in class with the other middleweights of the time (Toney, Jones, McCallum), he is certainly one of the best Europe had produced in a long time. Any proper boxing fan would have to respect all he gave to the sport really.

I loved watching him winding up Collins on ringside the super middle weights!

I saw a few of them on Channel5, he's got skills but no power

How's Collins son getting on? Heard he is the exact opposite. Power but no skill.

Met him at a book signing a few years back and he was brilliant with my daughter. Spent a good while chatting to her about school etc.

Loved the rivalry back in the day

I always liked Eubank's quirky personality. And the fact that I didn't like Benn's abrasive personality and strongly fancied Eubank to beat him first time (Benn was a big favourite) made me like him even more when he won. Despite all the showmanship he could really fight and he had an incredibly tough chin.

His post-fight interview in the first Benn fight is a classic (compared to the usual boring and predictable ones).

I disagree that Collins was there for the taking. Yes, he was put down legitimately, but I didn't think he was badly in trouble.
I do agree though that Eubank didn't go flat out to finish him when he had to know he was behind, which led to legitimate reasoning like yours.
