just need a few questions answered/advised in realtion to employment

    (1) are you entitled to a contract?
    (2) are you entitled to more money on a sunday and bank holiday
    (3) If you are rostered 10-7, is it your right to work those full hours or can they be changed on the day ie sent home early.
    (4) Minimum wage is guaranteed for over 18 year olds. Is it the employers obligation or the law that allows your money per hour to be increased after a certain time of service.

    Thanks

    1. You are entitled to a contract or written terms and conditions of employment.

    2. If you're on minimum wage, you're entitled to a 'reasonable' premium for Sunday work. Reasonable is not defined. For bank holidays, if you have worked 40 hours in the previous 5 weeks, you are entitled to a day in lieu (if you work the holiday) or 1/5 of your weekly hours if you do not work it.
    3. No idea, sorry! Afaik (and I could well be wrong) roster changes require 24 hours of notice, except in exceptional circumstances.
    4. Minimum wage is based on length of work experience as well as age. If you're on minimum wage (8.65), you're not entitled to a raise.

Depends on the terms of your contract

There is no obligation to increase wages above 8.65 an hour.

A week in hand means that the employer holds on to one weeks wages for a week after you have earned it.

If you start work on the 1st January you will get paid for that week not on the 7th but on the 14th.

So after that you get paid every week but the employer always owes you at least one weeks money
