Coil packs? The 1.3 does tend to go through a lot of them

Does it happen when you try accelerate from a low RPM in a high gear?

I checked the spark plugs one by one and they look fine to me. It stalls in every gear when a push the pedal harder. And the engine makes a louder fan noise.

They may look ok but have you checked for a spark? coil packs always fail on zetec engines. Could also be a dodgey air flow meter.

Just wobbling and shaking like it would cut down but it doesnt yet. I can prevent it by accelerating slowly , but i want to fix the problem. Was fine until i filled up. And done about 10 miles since and still happens.

Can i check or repair that myself or i have to garage it?

I'd imagine it's the coil pack, sounds like it anyway. They're a tough old engine regardless, I doubt it's bad fuel unless you ran it dry before filling up and you've gunged up the fuel filter.

When i checked the sparks i noticed visible sparks between the coil and one of the sparks, without touching. Does this help for an answer?

Is it the coil pack or ignition coil pack?

It does make a spark only on one spark plug, like a small lighting between the cover(coil i think ) and the spark.

Are you seeing that spark with all the leads still connected?

it sounds very much like the coil pack if it's a 1.25 zetec engine. Easy DIY fix, €20 to €30. Worth renewing the plugs and leads too whilst you are at it

edit you should only see a spark with the lead removed and held to earth or ditto with the spark plug removed and the end held to earth with the lead attached

The 1.25 was never fitted to the Ka. Just the old 1.3 kent engine. However, these run through coil packs too.

    Eh. No.

The 1.25 was the joint Yamaha/Ford Zetec engine that was completely different to the older 1.3. It was never fitted to first gen Ka, only to the Fiesta.

The Ford Kent, by then known as the Endura-E was the only engine (apart fromthe sport Ka) available on the first generation Ka. It was the 1.3l.

Sorry my bad never seen a ka with d old ohv engine. Didn't they hav an old style distributor cap. If it does that could need a rebuild.

Replaced the spark plugs and the fuel filter just to be sure. Drives fine now, with a slight missfire now and than in second gear. Any suggestions about that?
