We have a whirlpool dishwasher and indesit washing machine in the house
Dishwasher plumbed beside the sink along the back wall and washing machine at the side of the house
Both of them are independently showing errors indicating that they can't drain

    Any ideas??

If two machines are (possibly) using the same drain pipe and both are showing problems with draining water, then you need to check that pipe for blockages.
It could be a water saturation issue with the household drains.

They aren't using same drain pipe different sides of the house different outlets
What do you mean by a water saturation issue?

Thanks for the reply btw :)

Basically the water can't drain away quick enough and is backing up to the appliances.

with the washer have you checked the filter recently, d/w if it is emptying via the trap in the sink unscrew it and check for grease blockage, if they are emptying into standpipes that are blocked where they enter the shores they should back up the standpipes when emptying and onto the floor so I would think the prob lies within the machines

Does this occur more often when both machines are running at the same time?
