NCT - someone else brings your car

Searched NCT on this but didn't find the same question

I have just tried to book an NCT but the first available test for the centre near me is believe it or not April 15th. Yes nearly 4 months time is the first avaiable time. Madness.

I am away that week. I know it asks for ID etc. but can someone else bring in your car once they have their own ID or does it have to be the person that owns the car.

    Thanks in advance

    Why the ID requirement?

Ring them up for a cancellation, you will get one a lot sooner. If someone else needs to bring the car then that person needs to produce their driver's license or passport.

To identify people bringing loads of cars in.
    Why?

Not trying to be difficult, but what's the problem?

Brought my nephews friends car as a favour and the NCT folk turned me down. According to them I had 'No reasonable relationship' to the cars owner? Surely that must be made up?

Sorry, that question is directed at the NCT folks rather than you.

You should have asked for that in writing.

I assume anyone doing fraud wouldn't bother with doing the NCT.

how could they know what your relationship was? you could have been their Partner or in-Law. If they asked your relationship, you should have told them to mind their own business.

Did you have the required ID of either a passport or driving licence?

OP You will get that rescheduled sooner if you ring them. I think that if they cant give you an appointment in a certain time your test is free.

Someone here might know the exact time.
