    Hopefully somebody can help
Can't find mu Manuel and tried goggling but am coming up blank

My whirpool awo/r 5206 washing machine isn't spinning fully and before calling customer care -again cos I had them out before Xmas to replace the rubber on the door- I want to check it's not the filter

So I removed the white bit on the bottom and could unscrew the black cap
There's a white bit inside with two plastic bits opposite each other inside the white cap bit - hopefully somebody with experience of this model will know what I'm on about
Anyway I can't seem to get it open.
I tried unscrewing it. Doesn't move. I tried running a screwdriver around it to see if it pops off (like opening a tin of paint) it lifted a bit but not fully and I was too afraid to force it - is this the way to open it or is there some other knack?

    Help please

Ps is it reasonable for a 4month pregnant wife to tell her "darling husband" to just get out of the way as his sole contribution has been to tell me twice! - post Xmas bills - to just buy a new one 😡😡😡
The machine is 4 yrs old with 8 yrs parts warranty so I don't want to be coughing up for a new one.

Seems like Missus you are not emptying pockets, the only thing that prevents the filter from coming out is that something is in there that is restricting its movement, afraid you will have to get hubby if he is handy to remove the pump and get it cleaned out.

    Wrong
    I do empty pockets.
Though he has been known not to!
And a sledge hammer would be more delicate than he I'm afraid. He has many talents but DIY ain't one of them unfortunately
Seeing as you're so wise - Any ideas to prise the cover open?

well the only reason that I told you that the pump ideally needs to be removed is that I have spent the best part of four decades repairing domestic appliances, try tilting the machine back at an angle and twist the filter back and forward it might just release
