BJJ injuries

I have developed a cervical foraminal stenosis in my spine from BJJ.
I have a constant pain in my neck from it.

I am worried as it is progressive that continuing with bjj will make it much worse.

Has anyone had similar and have you continued to train?

    Spinal injuries/conditions are pretty serious.
Who diagnosed it? Did they specifically say it was from BJJ? Did you ask it continuing BJJ was possible?

This is something for an orthopaedic surgeon or neurosurgeon to answer, not random internet people.

I'm tempted to close the thread, as Mellor's given you the best advice you're going to get, and potentially you could get some bad advice. Even if someone else has had the same condition as you, I'm not sure how helpful their story is, as even on simple problems, people's outcomes can vary widely, and this looks like a fairly complex condition.

One thing I would add to Mellor's advice though, is that this looks like something you might want to get a second/third opinion on if you can, especially if you've got a symptoms based diagnosis.

100%, get a second and third opinion.

I was told that I had cartilage damage when I done my knee the first time, second opinion was a bit warmer when they said cruciate damage. The final and correct diagnosis was 3 fractured bones, torn acl, medial and patella tendon. By the time I got the third opinion the fractures had healed and I have lost 10 degrees of movement in my knee. Unfortunately I hadn't the cash to keep going to doctors and specialists and I knew their original diagnosis was wrong.
