    Hi folks,
Perhaps you could help me please,
I have a car with Alloys and the tyres are Toyo Proxes 225/55 R17.

I ordered a spare as the car only had a can of gunk, but the wheel the garage supplied (steel) has 245/60 R16 goodyear tyre on it.
Seems to be a differant size tyre than the main wheels.
If I were to use it as a spare would that be Ok?, Safe?

The wheel doesnt fit properly as doesnt have full depth for a spare, so I might just get a skinny space saver.
Any suggestions as to where to get a skinny suiteable?

The car is a mazda 6,
    Thanks for assistance.

    Circumference is 2 inches bigger.
Sounds like they just gave you what they had lying around
225/60R16 would be the nearest correct size. I'd push for that.

Its not unsafe as such (no moreso than a spacesaver)

Is the tyre securely fastened in the boot?

    Tks for that Colm_McM,

I dont have the tyre securley fastened in the boot yet,
I havn't to figured out what to do yet, as in raise the floor of the boot.

The boot doesnt have the depth for a full size spare, so I might just get a space saver as that will fit properly.

I'd prefer the space saver too for boot space.

It'll do fine as a spare just make sure that if you a front puncture to swap one of the rear wheels into the front and put the spare on the rear. It'll do no harm on the back but will put your steering off on the front.
