I'm looking for a band to play for my wedding in May in Clonmel but our budget is very small,€500 would be the most we could afford. To be honest it's himself that wants a band! Has anyone any suggestions?

Would you think of approaching any of the local bands? That would cut out the travel costs.

Off the top of my head, you could ask Johnny B and the Boogie Men in Cahir, they put on a great show. They look for €1200 but if it was mid-week or something they may be able to sort something.

I would approach the likes of Gleesons as they would know the local bands and may be able to make recommendations.

I think u need to set some expectancy here. Does he want any band at all or a good band which you may find it very difficult to get for that budget. You should be able to get a 2 piece for that but that might not be what you're looking for.
As pooch says you could help yourself here by asking local bands would they do a midweeker.
Failing that, 500 is about the budget for a really good all night DJ.
