    Hello,
Can someone clarify for me please and share the rules for Rent Allowance - single mother & one child.

She is living in the same house for last 3+ years, currently unemployed, receiving social. The reason for this is that the husband left her with one child last month. Landlords are ok with this decision.

The don't have to accept the RA and this year social welfare have asked a lot of people who are renting houses bigger than they actually need have been asked to find some where cheaper and smaller ,

You will find the current rates below for rent supplement,

In order to quality for rent supplement the accommodation must not be in excess of euro500 per month.
The landlord would be signing a form to that effect.
Her contribution will be at least 30 per week.
We couldn't tell you how much exactly, we don't know what other income she has, for example maintenance from her ex.

    Thank you all,
What forms they need to provide?

She needs to show evidence of her SW payment, and a rent book or lease indicating that she has been renting for at least 6 months. She needs to show bank statements. She will need to visit her CWO to discuss the rent supplement. It is not as straight forward as completing a form unfortunately.
The CWO will almost certainly want to visit her at home before a desicion is made.

Single parents didn't change in the budget

Couples contribution rate increased by €5

Lone parents or single people pay €30 pw

30 is her minimum payment. We don't know if she has other income. It may be more.

If you go back and read it again it says that the mums minimum contribution will be 30. If she has other income for example maintenance, her contribution maybe more.
