I have my heating set to a certain temp and when it reaches it the heating clicks off and instead of a green light there is a red one. When the red light is on am I still getting charged for gas? I have a tendency to leave the heating on for most of the day so for about 30-40% of the time the temp is reached. I will start turning the heating off if I am getting charged. Thanks.

If you could post a photo of what has the lights we can help you.

I could be smart and say that the traffic lights outside your house is not connected to your heating !!

Unless the actual burner is lit then you won't be getting charged . What make/model of boiler have you got?

I have a Worcester boiler. No point posting a pic just of the standard thermostat. I think you've answered my question so thank you. The boiler only fires up when max temp is not reached.
