Dont know of anyone in the West but I would strongly advise to shop around.

We got my engagement ring made using a diamond my mam had given to step dad when they got married, it was on a tie pin. When he passed away she gave it to me.

we got it set on a 9ct solid band( I wanted something hard wearing and my size is T1).

The first place we went to (a retail jewellers with a nice shop front) wanted 1500 to do the ring. We went slight off the beaten track within the city to Topaz jewellers on Catherine st( no fancy shop front) met the man himself and it cost 450 euros. big difference there in price and he did an awesome job.

Another man in limerick city who comes highly recommend is Ger o'donnell on thomas street. Again no fancy shop front but you will meet the craftsmaster himself.

57 Thomas Street, its a pedestrianised street in limerick city. Its upstairs overhead another store. There is a nameplate on the doorway.

We got wedding ring to match my engagement ring. It was made by Michael Horan, he's based in Tullamore near Athlone.
His website is http://www.michaelhoranjewellery.com. It's about hour and a quarter from Galway. He's very good and you can see a wax mock-up of the ring, though it's not particularly refined compared to the finished piece.
It also worked out only about 60% of the equivalent (and rather clumsy looking by comparison) quoted in shops in Galway.

I got one made up in Gleeson Goldsmiths in Ballycasey in Shannon (http://gleesongoldsmiths.ie/index.php). Wife to be is very happy with the end product.

Will go though everything with you to explain, and in ur case I got thim to make one with little ideas I took off rings i'd seen elsewhere

Used Barry Doyle jewellers in George's Street arcade in Dublin, would definitely recommend them for custom rings.
